Local circumstances
Medina, the city of the Prophet Muhammad and home of the Prophet's Mosque, lies just north of the August 2, 2027 umbral corridor. It does not see totality — expect a deep partial eclipse of about 95% coverage around 13:20 local time, with the sun still high. Mecca and Jeddah to the south fall inside the path and get several minutes of totality; Medina's sky will grow dramatically dark without the corona's full reveal. ISO 12312-2 eclipse glasses remain essential for the entire event. The map marks Medina for its religious and geographic significance beside the Arabian leg of the track.
Viewing safety
Use ISO 12312-2 certified solar viewers for every partial phase. Only during totality (when the Moon fully covers the Sun) is it safe to look without a filter, and only if you are inside the path.
