Wholesale questions, answered

MOQ, lead times, certifications, shipping, and customization for the 12 August 2026 eclipse.

Who is Helioclipse wholesale for?

Helioclipse supplies bulk ISO 12312-2 solar viewers for schools and districts, museums and planetariums, corporate and community eclipse events, hospitality and tourism programs, and authorized resellers and distributors. Glasses are manufactured by Molgha Inc. in Montreal, Canada. Molgha supplied more than ten million Helioclipse viewers for the 2024 North American total eclipse. Products are ISO 12312-2 certified, CE marked as Category II PPE, and AAS-Approved.

Why does the 12 August 2026 eclipse matter for wholesale planning?

The eclipse occurs on 12 August 2026 at 17:02 UTC. It is Europe's first total solar eclipse since 1999. The path of totality crosses Arctic Russia, the North Atlantic, Greenland, Iceland, Portugal, and Spain. A deep partial phase reaches tens of millions of people across Scandinavia, the UK and Ireland, Germany, France, central and western Europe, Morocco and Algeria, the eastern US, and eastern Canada. Every partial phase still requires certified viewers. Demand spikes sharply in the weeks before the event and collapses immediately afterwards. Retailers, schools, event organizers, and tourism operators who stock early capture the full demand curve. Orders placed too close to the date risk shipping delays and stock-outs. Rush orders in the final weeks before 12 August 2026 will be constrained by stock: aim to book supply by May 2026 where possible.

What is the minimum order quantity for wholesale?

The minimum wholesale order is 1,000 units. Orders below 1,000 units can be purchased as retail multi-packs on helioclipse.com or through our official Amazon listings.

How do you quote wholesale pricing, shipping, and lead times?

We do not publish a fixed public price list on this page. Quotes depend on quantity, destination, timeline, and any customization. Typical production lead times range from about one week for smaller wholesale volumes to several weeks for the largest runs or bespoke programs. Shipping is quoted per order. Custom packaging, co-branding, and private label are available on larger runs. Contact sales@helioclipse.com for a tailored quote.

Which currencies do you accept, and how do I request a quote?

We invoice in EUR, USD, GBP, and CAD. Email sales@helioclipse.com or submit the wholesale form on this page. Include your organization name and type (school, retailer, reseller, and so on), estimated quantity, destination country, need-by date, and whether you need generic or custom-branded packaging. We usually reply within a few hours.

Which pack sizes are available?

Five retail configurations are available, plus bulk wholesale cartons. 6-pack: individually wrapped units with neck strap and phone filter, best for small families and travellers. 12-pack: same contents, ideal for small classrooms and office teams. 25-pack: same contents, suited to classrooms and community groups. 50-pack and 100-pack: retail-ready master cartons where each individual sleeve includes a hang hole so units can hang on pegboard hooks or sit in the display box, aimed at retail stores, pharmacies, gift shops, and high-traffic chains.

What is included in every retail pack?

Each retail configuration includes certified solar eclipse glasses to EN ISO 12312-2:2015, a neck strap for hands-free carrying between looks, a phone filter for safe solar photos, and individually wrapped glasses to reduce transit damage and keep distribution hygienic. Retail-ready 50-packs and 100-packs use sleeves with hang holes so you can open the master carton and stock the shelf without extra display fixtures.

What safety standard, certifications, and paperwork ship with the order?

Helioclipse viewers meet EN ISO 12312-2:2015(E), the international standard for filters for direct observation of the Sun, and are classified as Category II PPE under EU Regulation 2016/425. CE certificate CE-PI-20251117-01-01-9A is issued by CCQS Certification Services Ltd. (Notified Body 2834). Optical safety testing to ISO 12312-2:2015 is documented by ICS Laboratories, Inc. Helioclipse is AAS-Approved, the reference many North American buyers use for legitimate solar viewers. Each shipment includes the ISO test report, EU Declaration of Conformity and CE certificate, multilingual user instructions, commercial invoice and packing list, and HS documentation for customs. All documents are also published on helioclipse.com/documents for pre-purchase review.

What about the UK market, and do the glasses expire?

CE marking is accepted in the United Kingdom for PPE, and the documentation we provide is suitable for UK retailers and distributors. Helioclipse glasses do not expire: ISO 12312-2 removed the old three-year shelf-life guidance in 2015. As long as lenses stay undamaged, the viewers remain safe. We still recommend a quick visual inspection before each distribution wave.

How long do production and shipping take for wholesale orders?

Lead times depend on order size, customization, and factory load: smaller wholesale runs often ship within about one to two weeks, while very large orders or custom programs can take several weeks. Retail multi-packs continue to ship free in two business days across the EU and North America when inventory and cut-off times allow. Wholesale freight is quoted per order and typically covers pallet delivery to a single destination within the EU. Multi-destination drops and deliveries outside the EU are quoted separately.

Do you offer DDP or other Incoterms?

Yes. DDP (landed duty paid) is available on request and is recommended when you want one landed cost without customs surprises at destination. EXW, FOB, and CIF are also available depending on lane and buyer preference.

What HS code applies, and how are cartons built for transit?

The HS code is 9004.90 (spectacles, goggles and the like, other than corrective). Individual viewers are wrapped, then packed in inner cartons and palletized on larger orders. Cartons are labeled with SKU, quantity, batch, and handling instructions so receiving teams can reconcile quickly.

Can we add our logo, private label, or multilingual packaging?

Yes. We support co-branded frames, custom retail sleeves, and full private label on larger runs. Minimum order quantities and added lead time depend on artwork complexity. Send creative direction and target quantity to sales@helioclipse.com for a timeline and quote. Retail packaging is stocked in English, Spanish, German, French, Italian, and Icelandic to match the six languages on helioclipse.com. Bilingual or trilingual panels are available on request.

Which payment methods and credit terms do you offer?

We accept bank transfer (SEPA or SWIFT), credit card on smaller orders, and PayPal. Bank transfer is preferred for large wire amounts. Net-30 payment terms are available for verified institutional buyers such as registered schools, universities, museums, and government bodies, and for returning customers after a short credit review. First-time wholesale orders are prepaid. Custom or private-label programs typically use a 50 percent deposit on order confirmation and 50 percent before dispatch once artwork is signed off in writing.

How should schools, retail, tourism, events, and distributors plan quantities?

Schools and districts should plan roughly one pair per student plus 10 to 15 percent spares for staff and handling loss; 25-packs suit single classrooms while 50-packs and 100-packs match district-level buys, with multilingual inserts included. Museums, planetariums, and science centers benefit from retail-ready 50-packs and 100-packs because hang holes make gift shops shelf-ready without extra fixtures. Convenience stores, supermarkets, pharmacies, and gas stations can use the same retail-ready packs for pegboard visibility near checkout, with one-week lead times for orders up to about 10,000 units to support late restocking. Hotels, tour operators, and tourist shops in Spain, Portugal, and Iceland can combine 25-, 50-, or 100-packs for on-site resale, with co-branding available for curated eclipse kits. Event organizers should cover every expected attendee plus staff; master cartons can be prepared for on-site distribution. Regional distributors and multi-store chains are our highest-priority channel: contact sales@helioclipse.com to discuss territory arrangements, private label, co-developed SKUs, and volume programs.

What is your defect policy, and what if we have stock after the eclipse?

We replace any unit with a manufacturing defect free of charge. Report defects with clear photos within fourteen days of delivery. Larger wholesale orders include a small overage to cover incidental handling issues. Because Helioclipse glasses do not expire, pairs that stay undamaged remain safe and saleable when stored flat away from direct sunlight and moisture, including for the 2 August 2027 total eclipse visible across North Africa, Gibraltar, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia, and the annular eclipse on 26 January 2028. High-volume partners can discuss post-event arrangements with us case by case.

What should resellers tell customers about safe viewing?

Helioclipse glasses are certified for direct observation of the Sun during every partial phase of a solar eclipse. The only time it is safe to look without certified handheld protection is during the brief minutes of totality, and only for observers standing inside the narrow path of totality. Everywhere else, and during every partial phase, viewers must keep certified glasses on. Multilingual safety inserts ship in every retail pack. Resellers should pass this guidance to end customers.
