The Strait funnels weather and history alike: Barbary macaques on the limestone cliffs, and Africa a short ferry away. Totality here arrives with the sun still high; the dramatic skyline is a gift for photographs, but any ridge or building that clips the solar disk will cost you precious seconds. Arrive early — the Rock's roads and cable car will be packed on eclipse morning.
